Mesec simbolizuje osećanja, nežnost, majčinstvo, um, dok Venera simbolizuje zadovoljstvo, lepotu, zavođenje i čulnost u kvadratu simbolizuju unutrašnji konflikt između emocija i čulnog zadovoljstva.
Kod žena se ispoljava kao konflikt između majčinstva i čulnosti, jer je teško biti i majka i izazovna ljubavnica u isto vreme.
Može se dogoditi i radikalno odvajanje kod muškaraca: neke žene su idealizovane i poriču se sva seksualna osećanja prema njima, dok su druge žene čisto genitalni objekti sa kojima je moguća seksualna sloboda i uživanje, bez nežnosti i romantične idealizacije, tzv. “bogorodica-prostitutka” dihotomija ili žargonski, muškarac poznatiji kao – “edipovac”.
To vodi beskrajnim potrebama za novim seksualnim partnerima, jer nije razrešen primarni odnos sa majkom.
Primer za to je slučaj uspešnog muškarca i žene koji imaju decu, ali on ima i ljubavnicu drugačijeg socio-kulturnog ili profesionalnog miljea. Žena zna za nju, pati, on je nesrećan, jer je između dve žene što ugrožava i njegov posao i društveni život.
Tu postoji potpuni rascep njegovog odnosa sa ženama, koji potiče još iz detinjstva od edipalne kompeticije za majkom između oca i sina koja je ovde okrenuta u kompeticiju između dve žene.
Rascep je između majčinske i aseksualne žene i seksualno uzbudljive i emotivno obezvređene ljubavnice.
Često su prisutni ljubomorni napadi na partnerku, usled projekcije sopstvenih osećanja. Odnos sa ženom jako podseća na odnos sa majkom, izgleda kao da mu je žena samo zamena za majku, a ljubavnice mu služe uglavnom za pražnjenje napetosti zbog osećaja krivice.
Moon square Venus – the Oedipus complex (woman, lover or mother)
Moon symbolizes feelings, tenderness, motherhood, mind, while Venus symbolizes pleasure, beauty, seduction, and sensuality; in square they symbolize the conflict between emotion and sensual pleasure. In women it is manifested as a conflict between motherhood and sensuality, because it is hard to be a mother and a seductive mistress at the same time.
In case of men, there can occur a radical separation of these qualities: some women are idealized and all sexual feelings towards them are denied, while other women are purely genital objects with which it is possible to exercise sexual freedom and enjoyment, without tenderness and romantic idealization, the so-called “Madonna-prostitute” dichotomy; in jargon terms, this complex is known as Oedipus complex.
This leads to endless demands for new sexual partners, due to the failure to resolve the primary relationship with the mother.
An example of this is the case of a successful man and woman who have children, but he has a mistress of different socio-cultural and professional background. The wife is aware of her existence, she is suffering, and he is unhappy because he is in between the two women, which endangers both his job and his social life.
There is a complete disruption of his relationship with women, dating back to the childhood from the oedipal competition for the mother between father and son which is transformed here into the competition between the two women.
The disruption is between the maternal and asexual woman and sexually exciting and emotionally invalidated lover.
It includes frequent fits of jealous attack directed towards his partner, due to the projection of his own feelings. The relationship with a woman highly resembles the relationship with his mother; it seems that his wife represents merely a substitute for the mother, and the mistresses serve mainly for relieving tension due to feeling of guilt.
